Talamone and Fonteblanda: Talamone and Fonteblanda are two tourist towns
in the municipality of Orbetello on the southern boundary of the Uccellina Park.
A visit to the aquarium at the Laguna di Talamone is highly recommended.

Porto Santo Stefano: The Marinaro Palio is the most important event of
the year. It is held annually on 15 August and the contest is between the four
town districts: Pilarella, Fortezza, Valle and Croce. A visit to the aquarium
and the “Memorie Sommerse” Museum (the “Underwater Memories” Museum)
which exhibits the underwater archaeological finds discovered in the
Mediterranean Sea is highly recommended.
The Spanish Fortresses of the State of the Presidies (“Le Fortezze Spagnole
dello Stato dei Presidi”): The Fortresses, some of which can be visited
and where various types of cultural exhibitions are held, are fitting backdrops
for Porto Ercole and Porto San Stefano bearing witness to the presence of the
Spanish during the 17th century.
Porto Ercole: During the time of Spanish dominion P. Ercole was part of
the Spanish controlled Stato dei Presidi. Bearing witness to this fact are the
three Spanish forts built to defend the port and the surrounding sea. The most
important event of the year is the festival held on 2 June in honor of St.
Erasmo, the patron saint of P. Ercole; included in the festivities is the
typical costumed procession to the sea.
“La Feniglia” Beach: The Feniglia Beach unites the Argentario
promontory with that of Ansedonia. It is about 6 km (3.7 miles)
long and is bordered by a luxuriant pine forest.
The Argentario promontory islands (Giglio, Giannutri): The Giglio,
Giannutri and Montecristo Islands can be easily reached from the Mt. Argentario
promontory.
Orbetello: The city of Orbetello is surrounded by a lagoon with same name.
During the summer season numerous cultural and musical events are held. In the
first weekend of each month there is a street market dedicated to antiques.
Capalbio: A small medieval town situated on a hill that dominates the
last plains of the Maremma Grossetto. The famous festival and feast celebrating
the wild boar is usually held in the first ten days of September. Also
recommended is a visit to “Il Paese dei Balocchi” (“Wonderland” – a
toy and sweet fair for children).
Pitigliano: The historical center is situated on a spur of calc-tufa and
offers the visitor a fascinating surreal panoramic view. Originally Etruscan and
then medieval the town has remained intact throughout time. Recommended for
visits: The open air Archaeological Museum, “Le Città dei Vivi” (“The
Cities of the Living”), “La Città dei Morti” (“The City of the
Dead”), the Palazzo Orsini Museum and the Civiltà Giubbonaia Museum.
